SISMA is a three-year pilot project financed by the ASI Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (Italian Space Agency).

The SISMA project integrates within a unique system prototype, different know-hows in seismic and geophysical modelling and geodesy. The main aim of the project is to improve the knowledge of earthquake generation mechanism and to monitor the deformation patterns in seismogenic areas, in order to infer the dynamic behaviour of stress accumulation on faults. This goal will be achieved through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach that will involve all the participants of the team.

The user of the system is Protezione Civile della Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia (Civil Protection of Friuli Venezia Giulia).
